LEAGUE RULES FOR LITTLE NIPPER DIVISION
- Games consist of 5 innings.
- Games start at 6 pm sharp. Meet for warm-ups at 5:30. You cannot start an inning after 7:45. Recommended stop time is 7:30 of five full innings. (discretion of both managers)
- Cancellations should ONLY be due to weather. If teams have an issue please speak to the board.
- Cancellations due to rain will be determined by the President. Make up games will be scheduled by the President.
- If a player is on the bench one inning they are to be in the field the next inning. Players will sit no more than 2 innings per game.
- The inning ends with whichever comes first: a) 5 runs, b) 3 outs, c) exception is when visiting is ahead in the top of the 5th inning 5 run rule applies; home team resumes play until 3 outs or until the games is tied. If visiting is behind the inning is open.
- Coaches pitch to their own players. NO WALKS. Can strike out.
- When playing on Field 1 both the HOME and AWAY teams each need to have 1 parent in the concession stand PRIOR to the start of the game.
- Coaches cannot field a batted ball. (They should try to get out of the way) Coach can defend themselves by knocking the ball down that is hit hard right back at them.
- The batting order consists of every player on the team, round robin, everyone must bat.
- Any player arriving late, after the first pitch will have their name added to the end of the lineup. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
- There is free substitution for every position.
- All girls must wear the COMPLETE GGSL UNIFORMS in order to play. Shirts must be tucked in and not tied. Sneakers and cleats ONLY!!
- Helmets must be worn while batting, while running the bases.
- The fielders will consist of 11 players including a 4th outfielder and a rover (rover has been designated as an outfield position) and a defense person at the pitchers position who will field the ball.
- Infielders CANNOT set themselves up more than 5 feet in front of the baseline.
- Second base infielders have to be AT LEAST 5 feet away from the 2nd base.
- Outfielders MUST play on the grass.
- Bases are set at 60 feet, the pitcher’s mound at 35 feet.
- Both coaches shall determine a mound prior to the game. Pitchers (players playing defense) can stand in a 5 foot 180 degree half circle behind the agreed pitcher’s mound. No player shall ever play forward of this position until the ball is in play. FOR SAFETY REASONS.
- It is the home team responsibility to supply the game ball, get the bases and report the score to the Recorder.
- It is the visiting team responsibility to drag the field after the game.
- League strongly advises coaches and managers to attend coach’s clinic.

LEAGUE RULES FOR PONYTAIL DIVISION
- Games consist of 6 innings.
- Ponytails will use an 11 inch ball.
- Games start at 6 PM sharp. Meet for warm-ups at 5:30. You cannot start an inning after 8 PM. Inning that starts after 7:45 will be last inning. Saturdays have a 2 hr time limit (last inning 1 hr 45 after start time).
- The inning ends with whichever comes first: a) 5 runs, b) 3 outs, c) exception is when visiting is ahead in the top of the 6th inning 5 run rule applies; home team resumes play until 3 outs. If visiting is behind the inning is open.
- Only the 6th inning it open. If you only play 5 innings there is no open inning.

- Girls are not allowed to wear jewelry, or watches. Unless stud earrings.
- Blood rule ASA Rule 4 Section 9.
- Any ball that is inside the fence is in play. If a ball is over thrown at 1st or 3rd runners may advance more than one base. There is no automatic bases given. If the ball goes under the fences it is one base. Players must raise their hand to signal umpire.
- Helmets with face masks must be worn while batting, and while running the bases.
- Managers get 1 timeout per batter but no more than 3 per inning.
- Only team managers or spokesperson may ask for timeout or consult with umpire.
- Timeout occurs only when the umpire calls it.
- If coaches have a concern about an umpire’s call please email the board. We will review the rules with the umpire. NO ARGUING CALLS!
- ASA pitch rules will be followed.
- Pitchers are required to wear a fielders mask while pitching. It is recommend that players at 1st and 3rd positions wear them.
- Coaches get 1 visit to the mound per inning. If repeat visit is required pitcher must come out for the remainder of the inning.
- If a pitcher hits three (3) batters in one inning or five (5) in one game she has to stop pitching for that game. i.e. if a pitchers hits 2 batters in inning 1and is taken out she can return for inning 2.
- The fielders will consist of 10 players including a 4th outfielder. Outfielders must be at least 5 feet on the grass.
- Infielders cannot set themselves up more than 5 feet in front of the base line. The infielders are allowed to charge when a batter squares to bunt.
- Bunting is allowed on 2 strikes if the ball is foul batter is out.
- NO SLAP BUNTING
- Stealing is allowed. The runner cannot leave the base until the ball leaves the pitcher’s hand. If a runner leaves prior to the leaving of the ball the runner shall be called out. ONE BASE PER PLAY.
- No Infield fly rule will be used.
- NO STEALING HOME EVEN ON A PASS BALL.
- Batters will not advance ON A DROPPED 3RD STRIKE. Batter is out.
- Bases are set at 60 feet, the pitcher’s mound at 40.0 feet.
- There will be NO intentional walks any coach or player that abuses this rule will be brought before the league board.
- It is the home team responsibility to supply the game ball, get the bases and report the score to the Recorder. Please consult with the other team for names.
- It is the visiting team responsibility to drag the field after the game.
- PLAYOFFS WILL BE BY RANDOM DRAWING NOT SEEDING.
- WHEN ON FIELD 1 BOTH THE HOME AND VISITING TEAM MUST HAVE A PARENT IN THE CONCESSION STAND PRIOR TO THE START OF THE GAME.
